What’s the difference between SPF30 and SPF50?

SPF30 blocks about 97% of UVB rays, while SPF50 blocks around 98%. Both offer strong protection, but SPF 50 is ideal for those with very fair or sensitive skin, or during high sun exposure (e.g., beach, hiking, skiing).

How often should I reapply sunscreen?

We recommend reapplying every 2 hours, or immediately after swimming, sweating, or towel drying—even if you're using water-resistant formulas.

Can I wear SPF products under makeup?

Absolutely! Our tinted SPF formulas double as a lightweight foundation and can be layered under or instead of makeup. They absorb quickly and won’t pill or clog pores.

Are your SPF products suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. All KAÏ ORA sunscreens are dermatologist-tested, vegan, free from fragrance, gluten, and nuts, and certified by Ecocert COSMOS Natural, making them gentle and safe for even the most sensitive skin types.

Do your sunscreens leave a white cast?

No. We use non-nano mineral filters (Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide) combined with a tinted base to help blend seamlessly into most skin tones without leaving a chalky residue.
